How might modern directors and/or performance companies adapt the work to make it more suitable for a modern audience?

The language used in Romeo and Juliets time is very much different to the English Language we know today. The modern interpretations of Romeo and Juliet use the modern day English language however do also include some of the well known lines from the original Romeo and Juliet.
